Niagara University's College of Business Administration presented awards to the following area business leaders, alumni and students during its 22nd annual Business Appreciation and Accounting Banquet, held recently in Conference Center Niagara Falls. The awardees are: The Basil Family of Dealerships, 2012 Family Business of the Year; Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner, Distinguished Accounting Firm; Donald T. Denz, chief executive officer of Tara Cares, a patient-care centric organization that provides support services to numerous nursing, senior-living and assisted-living centers, Corporate Leadership Award; Len Crispino, retired leader of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, 2012 Canadian Business Leader of the Year; Mythily Sasiharan, senior financial analyst for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Outstanding MBA Student for 2012; and David Lemieux-Sarrasin, Outstanding Undergraduate Student.

Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner, an Amherst accounting firm, appointed Joseph Wesolowski business valuation senior consultant. Wesolowski, a CPA and CVA, is a graduate of the University at Buffalo with a master's degree in accounting. He was previously associated with a regional accounting firm.

Asbestos Workers Local 30 Fund Office purchased Fund Administrator's Management System software for managing its Health and Welfare, Pension and Annuity Funds from JBM Computer Consultants, a Buffalo consulting firm specializing in Taft-Harley Fund Management systems for benefit fund offices nationally.

Great Lakes Physician Services, a medical practice based at 462 Grider St., was recently selected by the Buffalo VA Medical Center to provide Fit Testing for up to 400 employees for the hospital network. This selection provides respiratory protection for all hospital workers, ensuring compliance with OSHA federal respiratory protection standards.

I-Evolve Technology Services of Amherst was named the official cloud computing provider of the Buffalo Bisons.
