> Hamburg laxers win 10th

Apparently, it doesn't matter where Hamburg plays. Its equally as formidable on the road as it is at home.

Lucas Shafer scored two goals and added four assists, while Ryan Jurek and Tyler Nicoloff scored three goals each in Hamburg's 16-2 win at West Seneca West on Tuesday afternoon. Hamburg is now 10-1 overall and 8-0 in Class B play while West Seneca West fell to 2-1.

Elsewhere, West Seneca East had a much more difficult time with visiting Williamsville North.

Kyle Kapanek scored the winner with 1:21 remaining off a feed from Jon Haun that broke a tie at nine and lifted West Seneca East to a 10-9 win. It was Kapanek's third goal on the day to go with two assists, while Haun also added three goals and a pair of assists. Goalie Parker Phillips record nine saves for West Seneca East (5-4, 5-2 Class B).

In Class C girls lacrosse, Lake Shore visited Amherst in a game that wasn't settled until overtime when Alana Rockoff knocked in the winner to give Amherst the 13-12 win.

Sarah Bishof's pass hit Rockoff in stride on a breakaway for the winning goal. Bishof led Amherst with three goals and an assist while Grace Slauson added three goals and Sarah O'Brien and Rockoff each finished with a pair of goals.

Kate Ramsey and Leah Bellis scored three goals each as East Aurora (6-4, 3-2) defeated Springville in Class C play.

> Clarence wins in track

Clarence's Teddy Okon won the triple jump (39-7), long jump (18-0.5) and high jump (6-feet) in a 108-32 triumph over Orchard Park. Chad Mann won the shot put (47-5 1/2 ) as well as the discus (126-9) for Clarence.

Clarence's girls also faired well in an 86-55 win over Orchard Park as Kirsten George was a triple winner claiming honors in the 100 (16.4) and 400 hurdles (1:12.8) and triple jump (34-11). Kaitlin McCadden claimed victories in the 800 (2:26.7) and 1,500 (5:02.5) meters, while Anneliese Bianko won the shot put (30-8) and discus (93-3).

> Labenski blanks Nichols

St. Mary's of Lancaster's Nate Labenski tossed a complete game four-hitter in a 4-0 shutout over Nichols.

Barker recorded its third win of the season behind Austin Blackley's 2-for-2 performance at the plate including an RBI and a run scored in a 6-4 victory over CSAT.

Connor Hellwig fired a three-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Ellicottville by Franklinville, 4-1.

City Honors moved to 9-1 overall and 8-1 in Cornell Cup play after beating I-Prep/Grover, 8-1, behind Tom Samar's two-run homer.

Thad Johnson of Frewsburg dominated Cassadaga Valley, tossing a complete game with 17 strikeouts while going 2 for 3 at the plate including a double. Tage Johnson was also strong with a 3-for-3 performance with a double, triple and three RBIs in the Bears' 6-0 win. Frewsburg is 8-3 overall and 6-0 in CCAA II play.

Tre Bly pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts while teammate Jared Bauerlein added three hits and two RBIs in North Collins' 8-1 victory against West Valley. North Collins is now 6-0 in CCAA IV play and 9-1 overall.

> Frewsburg wins in CCAA II

Pitcher Sam Mott recorded 10 strikeouts then helped her cause with two hits including a two-run homer in Frewsburg's 10-1 win over Cassadaga Valley. Frewsburg moved to 5-0 in CCAA II softball play and 7-3 overall.

Olean remained unbeaten at 8-0 overall and 7-0 in CCAA I behind Chelsea Calabro's three hits and three RBIs while Maddy Stavish added a pair of hits on two doubles in a 9-2 triumph over Southwestern.
