MARCHEWKA, Theodore J.

MARCHEWKA - Theodore J. Age 87, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, DeKalb. Born March 7, 1925, in Buffalo, New York, the son of Joseph and Celia (Molik) Marchewka, he married Josephine M. Antkowiak in May 1948. Ted was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a fire fighter by the city of Buffalo, serving on Engine Company #22 for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid fisherman, played baseball for many years and enjoyed his bowling league in Buffalo. He is survived by his children, Jack (Beth) Marchewka of DeKalb and Gerald Marchewka; grandchildren, Bill, Tim, Kellie Ann and Matthew; sisters, Ruth (Robert) Krolczyk and Florence (Neil) Burns, both of Buffalo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, in 1997; brother, Fred Marchewka; and sister, Alice Browning. Visitation will be held from noon-2 PM, Saturday, April 28, at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, DeKalb, with full military honors conducted by DeKalb County Honor Guard. No services will be held. Cremation has taken place at the Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.
