The second annual "Birdhouses for the Clubhouse" fundraising event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Gilda's Club, 1140 Delaware Ave., corner West Ferry Street.
This is your chance to buy birdhouses that have been hand-painted; some were even built from scratch. Some are suitable for indoor decoration; others can be homes for birds outdoors.
Plus, you can learn about birding and the environment from experts, place orders for geraniums and purchase one-of-a-kind items from vendors.
Visit gildasclubwny.org for more information. Proceeds will benefit Gilda's Club Western New York, a nonprofit support community for men, women and children who are living with cancer -- and their families and friends.
Rock your walls
A signed lithograph from Bob Dylan, original work by animator Ron Campbell for the Beatles' cartoon show and the film "Yellow Submarine," an early panoramic photo of the newly formed Allman Brothers Band from Rolling Stone magazine first chief photographer Baron Wolman and club photos of a young Bruce Springsteen are among the works on show and for sale next weekend at the "97Rock Classic Rock Art Show & Sale."
Also among the memorabilia will be gold records and concert tour posters.
The "rock art" show will be on display Friday through April 29 at Walden Galleria, on the first floor near Lord & Taylor's. Viewing is free, but all works on display are for sale.
