Education: Graduate of Nichols School, and earned a degree in political science from Syracuse University and my MBA from Canisius College

The Questions:
What's one thing people don't know about you?
From age 5 to 20, I was a competitive downhill ski racer. The races took me across New York State and into Vermont and New Hampshire. I was once clocked at over 60 mph in a downhill race. Today I still enjoy skiing with my family in Ellicottville.

What music have you been listening to lately?
My iPod has a large mix; I would say The Tragically Hip is prevalent. I have seen them 14 times in concert. Newer music includes The Shins, The Decemberists, Mayer Hawthorne and Thievery Corporation.

What's your favorite restaurant? 
My favorite restaurant is Glen Park Tavern in the Village of Williamsville, with two close seconds: Mulberry and Left Bank.

Who is your political hero? 
Ronald Reagan, he proved that peace and prosperity can be accomplished through less taxes, smaller government and investment in National Defense.

What's the worst part of your job? 
At times I have to miss important family events due to my Legislature responsibilities. My wife and children understand – but it’s still difficult.
