GREUNE, Francis W. "Bud"

GREUNE - Francis W. "Bud"
Bud Greune threw off his earthly shackles on Sunday March 25, 2012 midway through his 90th year. Bud spent his last full day surrounded by his three living children and his last week and a half under the wonderful care of Serenity House in Victor, NY. Shortly after graduating from high school, Bud joined the Army, seeing combat in France and subsequently losing his lower right leg to a land mine. Bud was awarded a Purple Heart for this service related injury. Following a yearlong rehabilitation he attended undergraduate school at BGSU and Ohio State, then law school at the University of Buffalo. He travelled the country representing Sports Service for years before settling at Saperston Day until his retirement at age 65. Bud lived life on his own terms to the very end. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen, father Walter, mother Mary, brother Don and sisters Eileen and Dolores. He is survived by daughter Debra Dewey (Brian Hoffere), sons David (Mary) Greune and Paul (Barbara) Greune, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, former wife Edith Doerr Moore and an extremely long list of friends, acquaintances and dance partners. Bud is dancing with the angels now...on two good feet! A Celebration of Bud's Life will be held on Saturday April 21st at 12 Noon in the Sunset Mausoleum of the Elmlawn Cemetery, 3939 Delaware Avenue, Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity House of Victor, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY 14564, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in his memory.
