Sovran Self Storage promoted Kevin Driscoll to vice president of finance. Driscoll joined the company in 2005 as controller. A CPA, Driscoll graduated from the University at Buffalo, where he also earned an MBA. Also, the company appointed Hilary Taylor, divisional controller. Taylor previously was the accounting manager of a Syracuse-based company. A CPA, she holds a bachelor's degree from the Geneseo State College.

Five Star Bank promoted Mark C. Zawodzinski and Linda J. Thompson to vice presidents.Zawodzinski currently serves as financial reporting senior accountant. He joined the Finance Department in 2008 as a CPA. Zawodzinski graduated from Canisius College. Thompson joined Five Star Bank in 2004 as a compliance analyst. In 2009, she was named Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering officer. She is a University at Buffalo graduate.

Cannon Design appointed Chan Byun a design principal. Byun has focused his career on the design of institutional projects, particularly, healthcare facilities. He previously served as design principal at TRO Jung | Brannen in Boston, Mass. A Cornell University graduate, Byun earned a master's degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Northwest Savings Bank promoted Jeff Cramer to senior vice president and credit officer for the greater Buffalo and Rochester markets. Cramer joined the bank in 2004 as a commercial lender in the New York region. He is a University at Buffalo graduate and has completed a range of classes from the American Institute of Banking and The Risk Management Association in commercial lending and credit.

Medaille College named Jeanine Purcell director of major gifts in the Office of College Relations. Previously, Purcell worked at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart and Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School. She is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

M&T Bank promoted Fred Krajacic to group vice president. Krajacic manages the bank's Property Management function, overseeing more than 1,000 properties located across the bank's footprint. He joined the bank in 2006. A University of Rochester graduate, he has an MBA from Canisius College. Also, the bank promoted David D. Spriegel and Kevin J. Cavalieri to administrative vice presidents. Spriegel, a licensed attorney in the state of New York, joined the bank in 1999. He is a Canisius College graduate and earned both his MBA and JD from the University at Buffalo. Cavalieri serves as a senior segment adviser in the bank's Finance Division. He joined the bank in 1999 as part of its management development program. A University of Michigan graduate, he has an MBA from the University at Buffalo.

Cattaraugus County Bank appointed Dawn Tocha assistant vice president. Tocha most recently served as retail manager. Also, the board recognized and promoted three existing officers to vice president: Laurie O'Leary, Human Resources officer; David Skiba, MIS officer and Gregory Wojtowicz, controller.

Merchants Insurance Group promoted Michael Alessandra to assistant vice president of internal audit. Previously director of internal audit, Alessandra, a CPA and CIA, is a graduate of the University at Buffalo, where he also earned an MBA.
