Sound & Re-Vision
What?: A Buffalo David Bowie Tribute Show
When?: 10 tonight in Nietzsche's (248 Allen St., 886-8539).
Who?: The Irving Klaws, Erie Lackawanna Railroad, David Kane, Pine Fever, the Moves, Jen Whit, Megan Callahan, Sea Snake Vs. and Drop D.
Why?: Buffalo artists interpreting the songs of the man we must all consider the father of alternative rock. The breadth of Bowie's material is all but boundless, ranging from psychedelic folk, to prog-rock, art-rock, blue-eyed soul, funk, electronica, ambient, hard rock, glam rock, arena pop and various bits that are odd and esoteric enough to deflect even the hint of genre classification. Covering Bowie can bring out the best in an artist, and one comfortably suspects that tonight's batch of Buffalo musicians will be suitably inspired by their dance with the Thin White Duke.
