The Power 10 / Boys basketball rankings

Canisius (1): Still clearly the best in WNY despite disappointing finish on Long Island.

Niagara Falls (5): Finished strong with AA title and hanging with Aquinas to final minutes.

Olean (2): Lost in final four to Bishop Ludden team that won B state title, then lost in Fed final.

St. Mary's (3): Balanced Lancers played superb basketball all the way to school's first Manhattan Cup championship game.

Jamestown (8): Plenty coming back here and for Falls. It's highly likely we'll see them meet again at Buffalo State in March 2013. We're not complaining.

East Aurora (NR): Terrific team-ball finish for the A champion Blue Devils.

McKinley (4): Knocked out by East Aurora in overall A championship.

St. Joe's (6): Lost three of last four (vs. St. Francis, at Canisius, St. Mary's in Manhattan Cup final).

Bishop Timon-St. Jude (7): You can say Tigers didn't have a breakthrough win, but OT losses at Joe's and to Canisius show high-quality pedigree.

OTC Middle College (9): Four losses: St. Joe's and Canisius in Dec.; East Aurora in Jan.; Tuckahoe in the Class C state final.
