Comcast Corp., a Philadelphia-based provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services, promoted Buffalo native Tracy Pitcher to senior vice president of small and midsized business operations for Comcast Business Services.

Pitcher, who has been with the company since 2009, joined Comcast Business Services in January 2011. She attended West Seneca East Senior High School and holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.

Roosevelt & Cross, a New York City-based municipal bond underwriter, promoted John M. Canty III to vice president.

Canty, who joined the company in 2009, holds a bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from Canisius College.

Heath J. Szymczak, Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel's Litigation Practice Group administrator, was named to the board of directors of the Mid-Day Club. Located in downtown Buffalo on the 21st floor of the Liberty Tower Building, the club has been the private luncheon meeting place for Buffalo's legal, business and financial leaders for more than 60 years.

The summits took place last month in New Orleans.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center recently unveiled its new digital high-frequency radiographic/fluoroscopic suite. The new system uses electronic digital processing instead of traditional film, resulting in quicker procedures, immediate image availability and significantly less radiation exposure for patients. The new suite is part of more than $8 million in upgrades under way at Memorial.
