The Largo Group of Companies, a full-service commercial mortgage banking firm based in Amherst, has teamed up with two veteran lenders in New York City and opened its first office in Manhattan.
Sam Giarrusso, a 30-year veteran of mortgage finance in the New York metropolitan area, has joined Largo as a partner, working out of the firm's new midtown office on East 55th Street, at the corner of Park Avenue.
Giarrusso founded and led a commercial real estate consulting and advisory firm called G-Russ.
Previously, he served as regional president and head of commercial real estate for M&T Bank Corp., amassing a portfolio of more than $6 billion with more than $35 billion of commercial real estate loans in all. He also developed ties with prestigious New York developers.
Joseph Sforzo, who worked with Giarrusso at G-Russ, has also joined Largo as managing director in New York. Sforzo formerly worked at M&T, in the bank's structured real estate finance group.
Largo structures, closes and services commercial mortgages for purchases, refinances and redevelopment projects throughout the United States and Canada.
The firm has relationships with 17 correspondent lenders.
