After starting his Triple-A career going 0 for 5 at the plate, right fielder Raul Reyes had his coming out party Saturday night as the Buffalo Bisons beat the Columbus Clippers, 15-3.
Reyes got his first Triple-A hit and RBI in the top of the fourth with a double. He struck again in the sixth with a run-scoring double and finished his day with three RBIs after getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the ninth.
The Dominican was called up from Double-A on Thursday and now is batting .222 after going 2 for 4 on Saturday.
Jordnay Valdespin had himself a strong game as well, hitting his first Triple-A home run and finishing 3 for 5 with four RBIs. Luis Hernandez batted in another two runs, one on a solo home run.
The home runs from Hernandez and Valdespin came in the sixth, when the Herd got five straight hits with two outs to score five runs. The Bisons topped that with a seven-run ninth that was highlighted by two-run doubles from Valentino Pascucci and Zach Lutz. Pascucci's hit made him the International League's leader in RBIs (87).
The Bisons and Clippers will play again today (5:05 p.m., Radio 1520 AM) with Dylan Owen (5-6, 4.69) on the mound for Buffalo against Corey Kluber (7-8, 5.61)
