Phillips Lytle partner Kenneth A. Manning wrote a book review on the third edition of "Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts." The review will be published in the New York State Bar Association's Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section Journal.

The Martin Group, a branding and creative marketing firm, promoted Shannon Toughey to brand manager. Toughey, previously an account coordinator at the firm, is a graduate of Michigan State University.

The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation welcomed four new members to its board of directors: Kathleen Hughes Chubb, senior vice president, HSBC Bank; William Mariani, vice president of administrative and external affairs, D'Youville College; Arthur F. DuC. Musarra, real estate attorney; and James Robertson, director, corporate security, Delaware North Cos. The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation is an organization that assists federal, state and local investigative and law enforcement agencies by providing grants for special equipment and technical training that may not be fundable through their own budgets.

KeyBank recently celebrated the opening of its East Robinson branch at 3050 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, one of four new KeyBank branches projected to open in 2011. Robert J. Kaplan was named branch manager.

The New York State Center for Engineering Design and Industrial Innovation, part of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo, presented a cyber engineering workshop for young women. The workshop introduced the engineering-design process to area female high school students entering grades 10 to 12, who gained hands-on experience using engineering tools and a better understanding of the wide array of job opportunities in the field of engineering. Students from 12 different high schools participated in the workshop.

SKM Group, a Depew marketing communications agency, recently introduced a new logo, packaging and developed a retail distribution strategy for Just Ask Josh, a women-owned business providing gluten-free baked goods.

The Tuscarora Yacht Club in Wilson recently completed a $400,000 upgrade of its facility. New features include a greatly expanded kitchen, two landscaped patios, one with a roofed barbecue, a shore-side children's play area, improved slips, and a pump-out station. Located just 29 miles across the lake from downtown Toronto, TYC offers reciprocal docking privileges at dozens of Canadian yacht clubs, in addition to many on the New York shore of Lake Ontario and around the Buffalo Niagara metropolitan area.
