BROCTON -- The Brocton School Board Thursday night reinstated the junior varsity girls soccer program, which will be funded by the Brocton Booster Club.
Officials also announced Brocton will operate both its junior varsity and varsity football programs during the upcoming school year.
In another development, members of ASSET, organized by Brocton, Westfield, Ripley and Chautauqua Lake school districts, are collaborating on shared educational programs to reduce costs.
During a report on the organization, it was noted that if the state adopts regional high school legislation, ASSET could recommend that member districts move toward a regional high school -- with Chautauqua Lake School as the host school.
In other business, the board:
*Approved the probationary appointments of the following new teachers: Rosanne Carr, seventh- through 12th-grade English; and Matthew Seiberg, seventh- through 12th-grade social studies.
*Approved the appointment of Patrick Hodge to a part-time computer/technology position.
