Montreal 7, Ottawa 1: Tomas Plekanec scored twice and Max Pacioretty and Andrei Kostitsyn each had a goal and an assist as the Habs improved to 7-1-2 in their last 10 games.

Tampa Bay 2, Florida 1 (SO): Dominic Moore scored the only shootout goal and Dan Ellis stopped all three Florida shooters as the Lightning won in regulation in Florida for just the third time in 12 games.

Calgary 7, Dallas 3: David Moss scored twice for the Flames and Jarome Iginla also added a goal. The Stars' Mike Ribeiro extended his points streak to 11 games with three assists.

AHL: Portland 5, Worcester 2: Mark Mancari extended his season-long point streak to nine games with a goal and two assists for the Pirates.

Colorado Avalanche: Former NHL MVP Peter Forsberg will practice with the team to see if he is in shape for a possible return. The Avalanche said the 37-year-old Forsberg will join the squad during a morning skate today before an afternoon game against the Boston Bruins.

Los Angeles Kings: The NHL fined General Manager Dean Lombardi $50,000 for his comments questioning the integrity of league vice president Mike Murphy. Lombardi was upset after a disputed goal was allowed to stand Thursday.
