GOP announces dates of caucus meetings

Cattaraugus County Republicans began caucusing Tuesday to find candidates for village elections, scheduled from noon to 9 p.m. March 15.

Following are the villages, caucus meeting dates and locations, and offices to be contested, according to GOP Chairwoman Paula Snyder:

Allegany -- Meeting was held Tuesday at Village Library, mayor and two trustees, all four-year terms.

Cattaraugus -- 7 p.m. Sunday, Cattaraugus Community Building, offices of mayor and two trustees, two-year terms.

Ellicottville -- 6 p.m. Monday, Town-Village Hall, one justice to be elected for four years.

Gowanda -- No caucus, petitions are filed directly to the Board of Elections; mayor and two trustees, all two-year terms.

Little Valley -- 7 p.m. Monday, Municipal Building, mayor and two trustees, four-year terms.

Perrysburg -- 7 p.m. Tuesday, Town-Village Hall, mayor and two trustees, nine-month terms. (Village government is being dissolved).

Portville -- 7 p.m. Monday, Village Hall, mayor and two trustees, four-year terms.

South Dayton -- 7 p.m. Tuesday, Village Hall-Library, mayor and two trustees, two-year terms.

Candidates will be announced later.
