Dopkins and Co., certified public accountants and consultants promoted Elizabeth A. Pohl to general services supervisor. Pohl joined the firm in 2006 after graduating from Canisius College with an MBA. Also, the firm promoted Eric R. Soro, Amy J. Meacham and Justin J. Wild to seniors in the Tax Advisory Group; and Jan A. Tammen to senior in Dopkins ABL Consulting Services team. Soro joined the Tax Advisory Group in 2007 upon graduating from Niagara University. Meacham, a graduate of Daemen College, joined the firm in 2007. Wild started with the firm in 2008. He is a St. Bonaventure University graduate. Tammen, a graduate of Elizabethtown College, joined ABL in 2008.

Building Controls and Services, a Tonawanda-based provider of HVAC maintenance service and automated building environmental controls and security systems and services, appointed John Olaf a project manager. Olaf is a graduate of Utica State College and York College in Pennsylvania. Also, the company appointed David Wilson sales account executive and Robert Rodenhaus a software designer in the Tonawanda office. Wilson is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Rodenhaus graduated from the University at Buffalo.

Canisius College named Laura B. Marek assistant director for advancement projects in the Division of Institutional Advancement. An alumna of Canisius College, Marek most recently served three years as a research analyst for the Office of Prospect Research.

WCA Hospital of Jamestown now offers Breast MRI Imaging and MRI-Guided Breast Biopsy, a minimally invasive procedure where a breast biopsy is guided by highly detailed magnetic resonance imaging. When used in conjunction with conventional mammography, Breast MRI Imaging provides valuable information for the detection and characterization of breast disease.
