Crabb scores 1,000th point
Senior guard Jenna Crabb joined the 1,000-point club Monday night as her 24 points led Pioneer to a 72-45 win over Cheektowaga in ECIC III girls basketball.
Crabb, who also had three steals and four assists, now ranks in the top five all-time at Pioneer (7-1, 4-0).
Fourth quarter keys Sacred Heart
A strong fourth quarter keyed Sacred Heart to a 70-54 win over Nardin in Monsignor Martin Association girls basketball.
The Sharks went on a 25-12 run in the fourth quarter to take control. The spurt was sparked by Katie Healy and Sarah Pawlak, who stepped up defensive pressure, forced turnovers and created fastbreak scoring opportunities.
Healy had 13 of her game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter while adding 10 rebounds and seven steals.
Pawlak added 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.
Chloe Wingerter had 18 points and Brianna Robbins 17 for Nardin.
Nelson gets OT game-winner for Timon
Trailing, 4-2, Timon/St. Jude rallied for a 5-4 overtime win over Canisius in Western New York Federation hockey. Quinn Danahy and Joona Tolvanen scored in the third period to tie the game for Timon whie Justin Nelson notched the game-winner just 38 seconds into overtime.
Tolvanen finished with a hat trick for Timon (7-6, 5-1) while Dan Fulton recorded 31 saves.
