That was the score tonight at Coca-Cola Field. The Bisons won the opener of their scheduled doubleheader, 5-4, over the Pawtucket Red Sox and the second game has officially been banged.
Too bad. Folks won't get to see The Famous Chicken -- who obviously doesn't have weather radar or would have performed in Game One because it was clear this was going to happen. But the guy is great with fans and was in the concourse a long time signing autographs.
(No offense to our feathered friend but we had roasted chicken in the press box tonight. Love the act. Never tire of it).
The Bisons have won eight in a row at home and 17 of 20 overall. Tough to lose a chance to play two against a Pawtucket team that got up at 5:30 this morning for the flight here. Now the teams try to play two again Sunday at 1.
A big note on the ticket front: Even though a full game was played, the Bisons WILL honor tonight's ticket as a rain check for a remaining game this season. Those exchanges must be made at the ballpark box office. Nice gesture by the team, which certainly didn't have to do that because folks saw a full game.
