Lifetime Health Medical Group, a primary health care provider, appointed Dr. Sukhwinder Kodia to its physician team at the Amherst Health Center located at 1185 Sweet Home Road. Kodial earned his medical degree from Government Medical College in India and completed his residency in family medicine at the Wyoming Valley Family Medicine Program in Pennsylvania.

Chiampou Travis Besaw and Kershner, an Amherst accounting firm, named Mary E. Horbachewski, a senior tax manager. Horbachewski, a CPA, is an accounting graduate of the University at Buffalo and was previously associated with Deloitte and Touche.

Health System Services, a locally owned home medical equipment provider, recently celebrated the second anniversary of its Wheatfield store located at 6867 Williams Road.

Cato, a specialty store for women's and girl's clothing, celebrated its grand opening recently, the first occupant in a small strip mall on Veteran's Memorial Drive in Batavia. Located in the 34,000-square-foot Batavia Shopping Center, Cato is part of more than 1,000 stores nationwide with only two others in New York State. A second national clothing retailer -- Peebles -- will open in mid-November in the nearly complete strip mall development by Tennessee-based Spectra Group. Possible tenants also include a shoe store and a video game outlet.
