Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra cellist Amelie Fradette, who is from Quebec, studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Yale University and won "Le Prix avec Grande Distinction" from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montreal. She joined the BPO in 2001. Wednesday, she is stepping into the solo spotlight, with a recital of French music at Rockwell Hall with pianist Bryan Boyce.
In keeping with Fradette's heritage, the concert is all French music. Fradette and Boyce will be playing the music of Debussy, Ravel, Faure and Franck.
The concert takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is $12, students $9. Admission is free for Buffalo State College students. For information, call 878-6401.
