UB men's soccer: After a 13-day break the Bulls return to action Saturday with an 11 a.m. game at Mid-American Conference rival Bowling Green. UB is 10-3-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the MAC.

Niagara men's hockey: The Purple Eagles (2-3-1) will spend the weekend at Maine, where they play the Black Bears today (7 p.m.) and Saturday (7:30 p.m.).

St. Bonaventure men's soccer: After defeating Rhode Island and Duquesne in Olean, the Bonnies look to win their third straight Atlantic 10 contest today at 8 p.m. at St. Louis. After shutting out Duquesne, 2-0, goalkeeper David Flynn was named the A-10 co-Player of the Week.

ESPN Academic Teams: Three Big 4 players earned spots on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team. UB senior men's soccer player Dan Gwyther took second team honors as the management major has a 3.66 grade-point average and leads the Bulls with 11 points. Niagara women's soccer senior forward Stephanie Gartley was a second team with a 3.64 GPA in criminology and criminal justice while ranking second in the MAAC with 29 points and 12 goals. Canisius senior defender Nikki Gabrielli was named to the third team with a 3.69 GPA as a childhood education major and has played every game in her four-year career.
