Pressured to buy at parties?

Female entrepreneurs in Western New York are harnessing the power of the home party direct sales model popularized by Tupperware.

Not only are they selling merchandise for established companies, many are starting their own small companies using direct sales as an engine for growth.

Some people say party purchases are fueled by guilt. How do you feel about attending sales parties thrown by friends? Do you feel obligated to buy? How much is enough? Is it rude to attend without buying something? Should you attend a party if you plan to leave your wallet at home?
