Trappers signing on for muskrat and mink permits at either state or federal facilities know that placing traps in those management areas will be confined to dike areas only … no marsh or house trapping. Also, while the statewide muskrat and mink season starts Saturday, seasons for those species at the three state management areas in Western New York (John White, Oak Orchard and Tonawanda) will not begin until Dec. 6 and go until the statewide close on Feb. 15.
Members of the Central and WNY Chapter of Safari Club International and guests shared an
enjoyable evening of gourmet dining and fundraising fun last Friday night (Oct. 17). Don and Eve Gallo opened their awesome home and hearth to about 100 guests for the Second Annual Fundraising Safari Night. Gallo, an accomplished carpenter as well as big-game hunter, has a hemlock-trimmed front room of full-body mounts that could be mistaken for a wildlife museum of science.
