Brief Bisons interlude

PHILADELPHIA -- We've made it to Citizens Bank Park for today's workouts, which don't begin until the 3 p.m. range. It's partly sunny but I think we've dropped about 35 degrees from St. Pete! Temperature is in the high 40s here right now and we'll be dodging a lot of rain Saturday night.

Plenty of Series talk coming but a key Bisons tidbit floating around for me to share first. While talking to GM Mike Buczkowski about the possibility that Ken Oberkfell might be Buffalo's manager in 2009, he told me the Herd was planning to meet today's deadline to submit its new logo and color scheme for approval to MLB Properties. The team will then reveal it in a couple of weeks.

The Bisons aren't saying but it's probably some sort of blue scheme to acknowledge the new agreement with the Mets. Once the logo and colors are released, the team will move on to uniforms and caps, which I'm betting will be ready for the Christmas shopping season.

More to come on the Series later today. I'm off to get the first of what figures to be several press box cheesesteaks over the next four days!
