Three males were shot, one fatally, within 40 minutes and a couple of miles of each other on Buffalo's East Side on Tuesday night.
Two of the shootings may be connected, police said.
A confrontation inside a Wohlers Avenue home spilled outside and ended with Mitchell Woodruff, 21, being shot in the chest at about 8:25 p.m., police said. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he died later.
Eight minutes later, in a shooting police believe may be related to the homicide, Laquante Asher, 15, was walking on Dignity Lane, about a mile north of Wohlers, when he was shot in the stomach. He also was taken to ECMC, where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday afternoon.
At 9:05 p.m., Anthony Fleming, 49, of Buffalo, was walking along Dewey Avenue and was shot in the shoulder. He was treated in ECMC, then released.
Buffalo police said Wednesday that they don't believe the third shooting was related to the first two.
Meanwhile, authorities in Amherst plan to consult with Buffalo police to determine if a shooting Wednesday morning on Delta Road is in any way linked to the Buffalo shootings.
