>Driver accused of failing to yield in two-car crash
CHAUTAUQUA -- A Sherman man was charged with drunken driving and failure to yield after a two-car crash at Lyons and Nettle Hill roads at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies report.
Deputies said James E. Maynard, 39, stopped at a stop sign on Lyons Road, then proceeded into the intersection without yielding to an oncoming vehicle on Nettle Hill Road that did not have to stop. Maynard and the other driver, who was not identified, were taken Westfield Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
>Lockport man faces charge of impaired driving
SHERIDAN -- State police arrested a Lockport man on driving while ability impaired charges in the Town of Sheridan just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Bobby J. Sleger, 44, of Rapids Road, was driving on Route 20 when he was stopped for speeding. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.07 percent, police said. Sleger is due in Sheridan Town Court on Nov. 13.
