Maybe Donte Whitner was selling the Bills short before the season when he guaranteed they'd make the playoffs. After Sunday's convincing 23-14 win over the Chargers, it looks like the Bills might not only reach the playoffs, but do some damage when they get there.
The Bills are 5-1 now, alone atop the AFC East. If the Pats lose tonight, the Bills will be two games clear of their rivals in the division. If they keep this up, they have a good chance at hosting a playoff game. Heck, they could get a first-round bye and a home game in the divisional playoff round.
There are no great teams in the NFL right now. The Chargers were a chic pick to reach the Super Bowl, but they've lost four games and are clearly not as good as people thought. The Pats don't have Tom Brady. The Colts are a mess. Tennessee looks like the team to beat right now. The Titans are scary. They have a tough, physical defense and they rushed for 332 yards in Kansas City on Sunday. I don't care how bad the Chiefs are. Rushing for 332 yards is a staggering feat.
So what do you think? Are the Bills for real? How far can they go? It's finally OK to utter the two big words, isn't it? Do you think they have a shot at the Super Bowl?
