Looks like things are OK at Cardinal O'Hara.
The Hawks, who struggled early on and lost its first game of the year to Burgard, beat St. Joe's for the second straight year Saturday, beating the visiting Maurauders, 23-8.
Sherman Nelson returned to the lineup with 19 carries for 101 yards while Angelo Sciandra Jr., who also missed some action a few games ago, completed 5 of 11 passes and had two rushing touchdowns.
Sophomore linebacker Brandon Lyles and Shaquille Dudley each key third-quarter interceptions for the Hawks (4-3), who are 3-0 in the Monsignor Martin Association's League A.
St. Joe's, which is 1-0 in League AA after its victory at Bishop Timon-St. Jude, fell to 2-5 overall.
Dudley had 14 tackles, three for loss, and ran nine times for 41 yards. There were plenty of contributors on defense: senior linebacker Charlie Hudson had 11 tackles, including two for loss; sophomore Robert Davis had seven tackles and a sack; senior defensive tackle Tyler Phillips returned a blocked punt for 30 yards.
The game was not in the paper due to a communication breakdown between the O'Hara coaching staff and The News.
