Cataclean Americas, the Orchard Park-headquartered distributor in North and South America for Cataclean, appointed Todd Sadeghian vice president of sales of North America. Sadeghian, who has 14 years of automotive after market sales and marketing experience and industry knowledge, previously was regional sales manager for the Aftermarket Division of Visteon Corp. Cataclean is a patented gasoline and diesel technology that reduces emissions and improves engine performance resulting in increased fuel efficiency.
First Niagara Bank promoted Leslie Garrity to first vice president, public relations and corporate communications; and Julie M. LaForest to first vice president, human resources benefits and operations. Garrity joined the bank in 1997 as public relations coordinator. She earned a master's degree in communication from Brockport State College. LaForest, who joined the bank in 1991 as a member of the Internal Audit Department, has served as a banking officer, benefits and compliance manager in the Human Resources Department, an assistant vice president and most recently vice president. She earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in business administration from Niagara University and is also a certified public accountant.

The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce honored Sister Margaret Carney, president of St. Bonaventure University, with its L.O.U.I.E. (Love of Olean United in Enterprise) award for her inspiring and outstanding leadership and achievement in service provision and advocacy on behalf of people in the community. Also, the chamber named St. Bonaventure University the recipient of the 2008 Business Enterprising award for continually and generously giving and positively impacting the community. The awards will be presented Nov. 6 at the Annual Dinner at Premier Banquet Center.
