Biegner to speak
The Rev. Charles Biegner Jr., former pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Buffalo, will speak at 4 p.m. Oct. 26 as part of Western New York's annual Reformation celebration, sponsored by Lutheran Campus Ministries on the Niagara Frontier.
St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz, will host the celebration. Biegner's topic is the arrival of German Reformation Lutherans to Western New York, and their service, then and now.
Bishop Edward U. Kmiec of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo will bless and dedicate a "reconciliation room" at Bissonette House in honor of Sister Karen Klimczak, a nun who was killed in the halfway house for parolees in 2006.
The blessing will be at 10 a.m. next Saturday inside the house at 335 Grider St.
The room was formerly Sister Karen's living quarters. Recently remodeled, it will now be available for house residents, staff and community organizations to come together for resolving conflicts and for peace and reconciliation projects.
The public consecration of the Rev. Michael A. Badger to the office of bishop primate for the apostolic office of the Bethesda World Harvest International Church Fellowship of Churches will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Bethesda World Harvest International Church, 1365 Main St.
Fall study day
"Where in the World Do We Fit?" will be the topic of the 13th annual fall study day, sponsored by the Catholic Biblical Studies Program.
Sister Dianne Bergant will address ecology and the Bible from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1 in Kloc's Grove, 1245 Seneca Creek Road, West Seneca.
Bergant, a member of the Sisters of St. Agnes of Fond du Lac, Wis., is professor of Old Testament studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.

A.M.E. Zion revival set
A fall revival will be held nightly at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday in St. Paul's A.M.E. Zion Church, 610 E. Eagle St., featuring the Rev. Eldren D. Morrison, pastor of Varick Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in New Haven, Conn.
Morrison, who began ministering at age 18, is the youngest pastor in the denomination.
An 11 a.m. service Oct. 26 will celebrate the church's 83rd anniversary.
