The annual Art for H.E.A.R.T. auction will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum at 453 Porter Ave. The event will feature a guest appearance by Robby Takac and includes the bands from Grand Island High School -- Inlite and Sleepless City -- that were first- and second-place winners in the Music Is Art Battle of the Bands. The Buffalo International Film Festival recently received a Google Grant award, which supports organizations sharing the philosophy of community service to help the world in areas such as science and technology, education, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy and the arts.
