Suspect is accused of shooting cousin
An Easton Avenue man faces felony assault and a variety of other criminal charges for allegedly shooting his cousin late Monday morning on Northland Avenue, Buffalo police reported.
Ashley L. Braswell, 49, is accused of firing three shots from a .38-caliber revolver at Brian Braswell just after 11 a.m. One of the shots struck Brian Braswell in the buttocks. Another shot passed through the wall of a Northland Avenue house.
The gun was recovered at a nearby Northland Avenue address.
Braswell was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, police reports stated. Hospital personnel said later Monday that he was not listed as a patient there. His condition was not known.
Besides first-degree assault, Braswell was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm and two counts of reckless endangerment.
