Woman beaten, robbed on Barthel Street

A Koons Avenue woman was robbed on Barthel Street early Thursday evening when she was pulled into a vehicle, assaulted and had her purse stolen, according to Buffalo police reports. The purse contained $9 cash, a benefit card and a bottle of wine.

The woman told police that a vehicle pulled up alongside her about 7:15 p.m. and she was pulled into the back seat, where a short chunky woman with a missing tooth punched her in the left eye and stole the purse.

$10,000 in equipment stolen from contractor

A Depew construction contractor reported to Buffalo police Thursday that sometime dating back to last Friday as much as $10,000 in equipment was stolen from a storage locker at the foot of Hertel Avenue.

The owner of Visone Construction told police that the locked storage area was broken into and someone made off with a power washer, two water pumps, three concrete saws and 2 1/2 gallons of gasoline.

Drive-through rage nets arrest of customer

WRIGHTS CORNERS -- A case of McRage at a McDonald's restaurant here late Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a Gasport man, Niagara County sheriff's deputies reported.

Wayne R. Freeman, 29, of Orangeport Road, was charged with felony criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident. Officers said he hit the drive-through order box and pole with his car at the McDonald's on Lockport-Olcott Road just before 11 p.m., causing $1,000 in damage.

The incident was seen by a parking lot attendant and a video surveillance camera. Deputies quickly tracked down Freeman's vehicle and issued him an appearance ticket. Freeman told officers he had a short temper and his orders were continually wrong.
