Proposed budget to cut commercial property taxes
TOWN OF NIAGARA -- Supervisor Steven C. Richards proposed a tentative $8 million budget for 2009 on Thursday that would keep property taxes nearly flat for homeowners and cut taxes about 1.5 percent for commercial properties.
The town would spend $30,355 more next year under the proposed budget.
The rising cost of fuel, employee health insurance and the state retirement system were the main factors in the budget increase, Richards said.
