This Day in Buffalo Sports History

Oct. 2, 2005 -- The Bills played the first regular-season game in NFL history in San Antonio, as the Saints headed there in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Saints were rude hosts, winning a 19-7 decision. Here's how News' reporter Mark Gaughan described it:

"The Buffalo Bills moved a step closer to chalking up their 2005 season to a rebuilding year Sunday with a miserable 19-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints. With a 1-3 record, an offense that is in shambles and a starting quarterback who has been pulled in two of the last three games, the Bills' situation looks at least as bleak as last year when they started 0-4."
