LECTURE ON FREDERICK DOUGLASS: Waldo E. Martin Jr., a professor of history at the University of California, Berkeley, will present a lecture entitled "Getting Beyond Race: The Enduring Frederick Douglass and the 21st Century" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Marie Maday Theatre in Lyons Hall on the Canisius College campus. LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA NIGHT WALK: The Western New York and Finger Lakes Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual Light the Night Walk to commemorate lives touched by cancer will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Delaware Park. Paul and Karen Nanula will will serve as general chairmen. All proceeds will go toward research of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and blood cancers; local patient aid, education, advocacy and community service programs.
