LeRoy Fiedler, a retired industrial engineer and former tax preparer, died Sunday in McCauley Residence, Town of Tonawanda. He was 81.
Mr. Fiedler was born in Chicago and moved to the Buffalo area when he was 15. He graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1944 and had been active with his graduating class ever since.
From 1945 to 1946, he served as a finance technician assigned to the 3704th Army Air Force Base Unit.
Mr. Fiedler worked at Morrison Steel Products, Markel Electric Co., Roberts Gordon Co., from which he retired in 1992, and H&R Block, where he worked 27 years until 2002.
For 14 years, he volunteered as treasurer for senior centers in the Town of Tonawanda and Kenmore.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, the former Marian Staley; two sons, Leslie and Keith; and a sister, Doris Hanes.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Parkside Lutheran Church, 2 Wallace Ave.
