Time Warner Cable hasn't exactly announced a rate hike, but it has sent subscribers a glossy, eight-page circular titled, "Best of Winter," that shows that customers' worst fears are warranted.
On page 6, there is a half-page devoted to 2008 rate information that reveals the hikes are coming in February. The amount of the hikes will depend on the services a subscriber gets.
According to the circular, the standard cable subscriber will see rates increase by $3 monthly and the digital cable package goes up $5 monthly . The pay-channel rate will increase by $1 a month, the DVR service by $2 a month.
Most people with a DVR would still consider it a bargain, but one imagines the rest of the increases will be more upsetting.
