The Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter is in need of a volunteer to provide immediate administrative support for its Development Department. Responsibilities will include computer work, assistance with mailings, filing, telephone support and other office duties. Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word is a must.

The American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter is recruiting individuals for its disaster action team. After receiving comprehensive training, volunteers serve at both the local and national levels responding to residential fires, floods, snowstorms, as well as national disasters, such as the wildfires in California. The Volunteer Services Committee of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County is accepting applications for the Class of 2008 Board Governance Project for Women. In the past ten years more than 300 local, professional women have participated in the program meant to bring together people interested learning about board governance, networking, leadership skills, strategic planning, legal and financial responsibilities and problem solving techniques.
