>Anello, Dyster to light City Hall's tree Friday

NIAGARA FALLS -- Mayor Vince Anello and Mayor-elect Paul A. Dyster will switch on the lights to the lobby Christmas tree in City Hall at 4:30 p.m. Friday.


>Holiday Lights, delayed by rain, kicks off Friday

NIAGARA FALLS -- Animated characters and blinking lights will begin in the city Friday night after heavy rains drowned out the display's scheduled opening Wednesday.

The United Way's Holiday Lights of Niagara is now scheduled to come to life with a fireworks display at 6 p.m. Friday to kick off the monthlong event. The free event will run daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31. It features 35 displays and lighted trees.
