When: 1 p.m. today Where: UB Stadium.
Radio: 550 AM. Line: Even.
Bowling Green: This is the Falcons' seventh road game. . . . True freshman Glen Stanley recorded a career-high 18 tackles in a 39-32 win over Eastern Michigan last week. . . . QB Tyler Sheehan has completed 63.2 percent (249 of 394) of his passes for 2,650 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Buffalo: Seeking to win its fourth home game this year, matching the single-season record set in 1998. . . . James Starks needs 88 yards to become the first back in UB's I-A history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. . . . The defense has allowed an average of only 15 points per game in UB's four Mid-American Conference wins this season.
Buffalo might win if: It can stop the Bowling Green offense. The Bulls are close in most of their games because their defense gets the opposing offense off the field, but they will be tested today against a team that ranks in the top five of the MAC in total offense. Sheehan is the new face of the Falcons' passing game and has been productive and consistent.
Bowling Green might win if: It can bottle up the running game. Because the Falcons lead the MAC in pass defense, Starks will be the focus of the Bulls' offense and must be contained. The Bulls have proven to be vulnerable against the run.
Outlook: This game's matchups will be extreme with UB's potent ground attack facing a struggling Bowling Green run defense. Field position will be key and the effort by both teams will make the game close.
Prediction: Buffalo 30, Bowling Green 27.
