The McGuire Group Pharmacy, a provider of institutional pharmacy services, appointed Tricia Slomba director of business development. The Geneseo State College team, comprised of five students, won the Buffalo Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Fifth Annual Regional College Fed Challenge Competition held held recently at the Branch's offices in downtown Buffalo. Geneseo will compete at the Second District Championship competition in New York City, held at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Teams of students develop an analysis of current economic trends and formulate monetary policy recommendations.
The Genesee County Economic Development Center was awarded a $3 million grant to help construct infrastructure for the Genesee Valley Agri-Manufacturing Park as part of Gov. Eliot L. Spitzer's City by City Program. The park, which is located between Routes 5 and 63 in Batavia, will contain nearly 200 shovel-ready acres. Ground breaking could take place as early as spring of 2008.
