Bills-Dolphins Report Cardc

>Grading the Bills

Running game: C-

Gained only 63 yards, nearly 100 yards below Miami's average yield. Lynch and Losman made tough yards when it mattered late, though.

Passing game: C-

Losman didn't have the sort of day that results in megabucks contract extensions, but he kept his poise and made key throws down stretch.

Run defense: D

One week after shutting down Bengals, allowed 124 yards on 27 carries by Dolphins backup Jesse Chatman.

Pass defense: A-

Another strong game by the secondary, which didn't allow Lemon to make big throws down the field. Never seem to get beaten deep.

Special teams: A

Huge punt return by Parrish set stage for winning field goal. Lindell nailed the big kick. Great play by Jenkins on punt led to Kelsay safety.

Coaching: B

Defensive game plan conceded run yardage, but hard to argue with 10 points allowed. Young team didn't panic when it trailed against winless foe.

>Grading the Dolphins

Running game: A-

Averaged 4.6 a pop with Chatman. Offensive line has been one of few bright spots in winless season.

Passing game: D

One of themes in losing locker room was the unwillingness to even test the Bills deep. Clearly, they have little trust in Lemon.

Run defense: B

A terrific game by their standards. Limited Bills to 2.5 yards a carry and made Lynch fight for every yard.

Pass defense: B

Kept the Bills'wideouts in front of them and didn't allow a pass play of more than 21 yards. Forgot to cover Gaines, though.

Special teams: D

Holding on kickoff return TD was a killer. Fields had worst boot of day on punt that Parrish returned 40 yards to set up winning field goal.

Coaching: C

Had decent game plan, but seemed a tad timid at times for a team that was 0-8. When are they going to give Beck a chance at QB?
