School Board to hold special meeting today

The West Seneca Central School Board will conduct a special meeting at 4 p.m. today in the West Elementary Administration Building board room, second floor, 1397 Orchard Park Road. The board is expected to convene the meeting and then move into executive session to discuss a personnel matter.

Retirement party to honor Nolf's 30 years at base

NIAGARA FALLS -- Neil E. Nolf, public affairs director at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, has organized hundreds of media events and served under 13 commanders during his 30 years at the base.

Nolf, 55, steps down Dec. 31. A retirement party in his honor will be held in the Falcon Club at the base in the Town of Niagara tonight, beginning at 5 p.m.

The Town of Porter resident and father of two -- a student son and a daughter who is a church pastor -- plans to write a book on military history.

Nolf's successor has yet to be named.

County police official to head ECMC security

Erie County Commissioner of Central Police Services Kevin J. Comerford has been named director of security and safety management at Erie County Medical Center.

He will oversee security operations and security staff on the medical center's 65-acre campus on Grider Street. Comerford has served as commissioner of Central Police Services since 1999.
