As director of conventions and trade show services for the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, Christina M. DePerro not only sold the area as an ideal site for events but created many new fans of the region.
Ms. DePerro died Tuesday in her Kenmore home. She was 58.
Born in Buffalo, Ms. DePerro was a graduate of Maryvale High School. She worked the past 11 years at the convention center, where her attention to detail and the needs of her clients resulted in many return bookings from the most skeptical of visitors.
She was regarded by clients and colleagues as Buffalo's top unsung booster.
Ms. DePerro enjoyed travel, visiting Europe and states along the East Coast. An animal lover, she adopted a stray mutt that had wandered into the convention center several years ago.
Survivors include a sister, Molly Schwarzenholzer.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Nov. 10 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville.
