The Buffalo Bills will wait until Sunday to decide on the status of defensive end Ryan Denney and quarterback Trent Edwards for their game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Denney practiced fully Friday but the Bills are being cautious about his return from a broken foot, suffered in preseason. Edwards was not able to practice Friday. It's not certain whether he will be the No. 2 QB, the No. 3 QB or be out of the game entirely.
"We'll just wait and see with Trent and make that second or third decision probably on Sunday," said Bills coach Dick Jauron. "It's possible he could be out, but we're going to push it right up until game time.
"Ryan worked well yesterday in pads and worked well today. We'd love to have him back. We just have to talk to him more and think about it because he hasn't had a whole lot of practice."
Denney would be a big help to the defensive line whenever he returns.
Bills safety Jim Leonhard looks like he will play at least some against the Bengals. He has been out the past three games with a calf injury. He practiced fully and should be available to share time with George Wilson.
"If he's up and active, then he'll play some safety," Jauron said. "I don't know about starting."
