Actor David Hyde Pierce will be among four theater personalities who will be honored by Niagara University at a convocation at 3 p.m. Nov. 19 in Alumni Chapel on the Niagara University campus in Lewiston. The other honorees include actors Debra Monk and Karen Ziemba and director Scott Ellis.

The Buffalo Society of Artists announced the awards for the annual "Catalog Exhibition," which runs through Saturday in the Premier Annex Gallery in Clarence. Award recipients include: Gold Medal Paul Taylor Memorial Award, Gary L. Wolfe, Kenmore; Silver Medal Burchfield-Penney Award, Bruce Phillip Bitmead, Buffalo; Bronze Medal Larry Bell Memorial Award, Lennie Muscarella, Victor; Allentown Village Society Award, Susan Ludwig Ferry, Clarence; Partners In Art Award, Pat Fortunato, Williamsville; Ethel and Wilbur Lytle Memorial Award, Gerald Mead, Buffalo; Hyatt's All Things Creative Award, Norine Spurling, Amherst.

Shea's Performing Arts Center has announced the opening of its new Intermission Lounge at 658 Main St. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
