>Organized thieves hit Falls Dollar General

NIAGARA FALLS -- An organized ring of thieves made the Dollar General store on Niagara Falls Boulevard their latest target Saturday afternoon, police reported.

Four people made off with a total of $750 worth of clothing and leather jackets from the store around 12:30 p.m. Investigators said the group has struck before in the area and issued a warning to retailers.

The thieves appear to stash items at strategic points throughout the store, close to where they had placed plastic garbage bags. Three of the thieves then try to distract and intimidate the store manager while the fourth rounds up the goods. They flee in a car parked nearby, police said.
