Man leaving his home is robbed at gunpoint
A Herkimer Street man was leaving his home at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday when he was robbed at gunpoint by two men, police said.
The victim was confronted by a man who placed a handgun to his side, according to Northwest District police.
Police said a second man, armed with a shotgun, got out of a white Dodge Caravan and approached the victim. The first gunman stole the victim's backpack from inside his vehicle.
Police said the two gunmen then fled in the van, which was driven by a third man.
The getaway vehicle drove south on Herkimer and then west on Auburn Avenue.
